Finished Owl Sampler pillow

Happy Thursday!!

Thanks so much for all your concerns and wishes for my son. I know it's not a drastic situation, but it seemed like it at the time. We are just taking one day at a time and that's working out very well, so far.

I guess the fabric is growing on me. I just couldn't find the right colors to match the stitching.

I really haven't been stitching much at all. I do have my pin pillow exchange wrapped up and ready to send out tomorrow or Saturday. It's my first public exchange, Gawd!!! I hope she likes it, lol I sure do and it was hard to let go. More on that later when it's been received.

Here is a really easy smeasy, quick, inexpensive, tasty treat.

One can chili (we prefer chili with no beans) and a brick of cream cheese, nuke it till it's creamy and warm. Serve with Tostito's. Yumo!! Your family will luv ya!

I hope everyone has a perfect fun-filled weekend coming up.

Hi Ranae, Nice to see you over at my blog. Annie is so clever isn't she. I see you are also in the pillow exchange - hasn't it been fun? Your blog is lovely and your stitching looks beautiful.

I love the pillow , and the fabby does go with the tree and some of the letters , so it looks good.
We also like chilli without beans ,though I tend to make up a big pan from scratch , have it with spicy potato wedges and melted cheese on top ,yum.

It's so cute Ranae! Congrats on a beautiful finish! And I can't wait to see that pin pillow!

Hey Ranae - I just adore how your Owl pillow came out - the fab is perfect! I just love it. thanks for the dip idea - We are always struggling to get rid of the last little bit of homemade chili when we are tired of eating it - I will try this dip next time and I bet it will be gone in a flash. Yeah - my sentiments exactly on exchanges - I know they are wonderful and you meet great people but I don't get enough accomplished and always HATE sending my stuff away - just my 2 cents - Mel

We add a can of RoTel tomatoes to that and serve it over hot dogs on buns. Totally worth the calories!

Love the pillow.. the dots look great on it...

Great pillow, Ranae! And the dots in the fabric look just like owl eyes. Go to google images and put in "owl eyes" and you'll see exactly what I mean--perfect choice :)

Great finish! I like the fabric with it and just love the colors in your sampler.

I really do like the fabric with your stitching. It works!

I've not participated in an exchange. Too much anxiety over deadlines and whether or not the recipient would like it. So I've stayed away. Maybe one day when I get a bit faster and more confident with my stitching.

Adorable! I think the fabric you chose suits it perfectly.

Love your pillow, I think I even have this pattern/magazine somewhere... :p I really, really MISS that no bean Hormel chili, they don't sell it or any other no bean chili in my area of Canada and I used to make a great hot dip with it and Velveeta cheese... makes my mouth water,oh my! LOL

That dip looks delish! I'm a huge sucker for dip and can pretty much eat my weight in it, lol!

Hugs about your son, it's not easy being a Mom, watching them make the choices they do sometimes.....

The owl pillow looks great, and I think the fabric, color, and print is perfect! The pattern circles look, to me, like other owl "eyes" peeking out from the trees!

Your little owl pillow looks so gorgeous. After seeing your finish I moved the pattern much more to the top of my to-be-stitched-soon pile.
I hope your head cold has gone away and that you feel much better now.

What a cute little owl pillow. Hey, if it doesn't grow on you, I know where it would find a lovely new home LOL.
I am so sorry for your stress with your son. It never matters how old they are anything that affects our children affects us deeply. Hang in there girl. It will get better.
