Caution Ahead!!!

O.K. I have lost a couple of readers and maybe more, because of my Voodoo Doll, I stitched. I don't take pleasure in evil. My voodoo doll is not for that reason. It is to keep evil away.
Sorry!!!! This is my blog and I will post what I want, whether it is voodoo or stash.
I feel my blog has been targeted, with the negative emails lately, I just don't feel like posting or commenting. (getting alot of stitching in though)lol
There was one stitcher that did give her identity and Thank You for that. The others why don't you comment on this blog and let people know who you really are. Other stitchers think the world of you. And your blog is just so darn perfect, right? have you ever got a negative feedback about your blog, well it's not very fun.
Sorry! I just had to vent as it was eating me up.
Here is a companion to Voodoo boy. My own version. I did keep the heart the same

And here they are together

I forgot to show you the back of the first one.
So here is both from the back

Thank you so much for the ones that are still with me.

And for the ones that are, but dont want to be

EVIL BE GONE!!!!

Oh my gosh!!! I cannot believe that someone has interpeted the voodoo dolls as evil. They need to get a life.
I love them and think they are just the neatest.
It is your blog - you post what you like.

ROTFLMAO at those dolls! They are too funny! Ya know, I've followed your blog since I started my own and I feel so STUPID for not putting my little 'pic' in your 'follow me' thingy. My bad. I have lost a follower too and I'm not sure why. I just like to have a good time and enjoy life....I'll always be around and don't let the bad eggs get ya down. :-)

Renae, you just keep doing what you want to do matey and forget what others say. As you said, it's YOUR blog and you have the right to post whatever you like. If people don't like it, they don't have to look but they shouldn't be nasty either. I love looking at your blog and your work, even though I am not a fan of Halloween or anything witchy. I love looking at your talent and your creativity my friend. Please don't stop doing what you are doing. Your are doing a great job and I can see the funny side of your voodoo dolls and I was never offended by them. Keep going and have fun with it. I am still with you and I will continue to stay with you. You won't get any nasty stuff comming from me. Good on you for sticking up for yourself too. Hugs

I can't believe anyone would take the time to write a negative comment. They must not understand the blogging world at all. We are here to support each other in our crafting. I got a negative comment once and it was awful. So, please don't give an extra minute's thought to some small-minded people and keep on going with your lovely work!!!!!

They look great. I keep quite a few frogs around me to help keep away the bad frogs, which is kind of similar. I can't believe you were getting negative comments on your voodoo dolls. Hopefully you won't get any more. Great progress on LLL too, you've gotten quite a bit done. I'm enjoying seeing how each of us is doing the designs in a different order. Thanks to for the earlier Halloween link, the spooky SAL's were so much fun to see.

Your dolls look great. Post what you like on your blog, if people don't like it they don't have to read it. Take care ((((HUGS))))

Well my goodness...what have you ever done to get negative feedback? I haven't ever been offended....for heaven's sake...
I think your voodoo dolls are cute ;o)

I find them to be quite adorable, and wish I had a pair!

Kajsa said...

They are both so cute! It's your blog, do whatever you want to do with it.

People left you negative feedback?!? What a rotten thing to do! I think those dolls are perfect!

You do wonderful stitching. Followers come and followers go....
Do not worry about others...
I use my blog mainly for myself... to show myself that I can do wonderful work and that makes me special.
I post what I want about what I want.
If others do not like it ... OH WELL... If others do great.

God gave us our gifts of the needle and please continue to share your work with us....

You bring us motivation to keep stitching when we have lost that motivation.

I only hope others will feel that way about me too.

Just dropping by to say hello and to support you in this. I read your blog often, and I love the little voodoo dolls.
Keep on stitching!

I admit they are not my cup of tea but then wouldnt it be a sad world if we all liked the same thing.

No luckily I have never had a negative comment though I guess the day will come. As you said its your blog and you say what you like. My blog is as much a diary for me as it is for others to share, if they do not like what I put up or write they do not have to come. I think you are better off without people who are rude.

Well, I'm still here, and I love your Voodoo companion!!

I think those are absolutely great! :)
I haven't had bad comments but have heard about how cruel people can being anonymous. I think if they write bad comments they should have the courage to do it with their own name.

?? Huh?? People have been giving you a hard time? Ah, ignore them - that's just exactly how much attention they deserve!

I, for one, LOVE your voodoo doll. I had the good fortune of seeing Annemarie's "live" at her last GTG and they are utterly delightful IRL.

You take care, okay? Don't let the turkeys get you down, as my BIL used to say.

It makes me sad that you can't post whatever you like, as you say it is your blog.... Everyone has different likes and dislikes doesn't make one person right and not the other. I like your voodoo dolls and please don't be put off at posting what you want. xx

Oh my goodness - have people gone mad? Two of my friends have these beauties and I think they are splendid.

People can be so weird sometimes. I love those little dolls.

Laura said...

Your Voodoo dolls are cute. Some people just need to get over themselves.

Sally said...

Some people can be so harsh and cruel. As you say it's your blog and if they don't like what you post then TOUGH with a capital T! How can these voodoo dolls be interpreted as evil? They are fun and quite cute in as strange kind of way! LOL!

Tammy said...

Your dolls are probably the cutest, funkiest things I've ever seen that I HAVE to have for myself ('cause I'm a bit witchy, you know). Do what you like and be creative, as you currently are. It's a shame someone would comment negatively on a cross stitch blog!!! It's needlework, people!! Keep on stitchin! :)

Pumpkin said...

OMG Ranae! I thought you were joking at first. That's awful! Why do people feel they need to voice those opinions? It's YOUR Blog, not theirs. If they don't like what you have on there, they don't have to read it. Heck, MY Blog should be targeted for the x-rated stuff I put on there ;o) Sorry, I couldn't resist. You know I'll always be here reading!

I like you new doll too, although I still want to stitch one up for evil. Hey, insurance companies are no fun to deal with ;o)

Julie said...

I think they are cool.

I've lost a couple of followers recently too. I love coming here and seeing what you are up to. This is your space, say what you like, surely thats the idea....wouldn't it be boring if we were all the same and liked the same things

I'm so sorry that there are people out there who would feel compelled to comment negatively and stop reading your blog over something like this. How childish! I've loved the VooDoo boy design ever since I saw the one that Harmien sent to Annemarie. I love your companion, too!

I'm a new reader, so you can consider me a replacement for one of those bad eggs. (Your blog has been in my Google Reader for a while, but it's in my "To be read" folder, and I've just convinced myself that I CAN starting to read the new posts on those blogs without feeling compelled to read ALL of the previous posts first. :o) )

Sharon said...

They are both so cool looking! Great job on both! As for those that don't like it-the last time I checked this was a free country. Which also means-they are free to look elsewhere! Post what you want Ranae!

Cindy said...

I think that the voodoo twins are cute :)

It's too bad that people feel the need to post anonymous mean comments. After all, if they don't like it, they don't have to read it. It's your blog, so keep on posting whatever you want!!

I can't believe that some people are so narrow minded. Your stitching is fabulous.
'Those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.'
I think that quote belongs to Dr Seuss!

I feel sad you've been targeted again by negative mails ... But you're strong and you do whatever you want because you have something they don't have: the password to your blog !!! lol and your sense of humor and your great stitching you share with us !!! Keep blogging girl !!! You rock !!!!

And I agree completely with what everybody here said! I love visiting yoru blog.

I love your voodoo dolls - they are fabulous! Good for you standing up for what you want to stitch and share on your blog - it's yours!!

I LOVE them! where did you get the patterns for them???? How can anyone say something negative about it?! It's your blog to do what you want!!!

Kathy said...

Love your little dolls. There are always those that have to spoil the fun. Just ignore them. They are just ignorant and don't know any better. Keep up the good work.

OMG!!! This is such a GREAT idea! I think I have to make some of them for myself.
I LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!
