Halloween progress WIP's

Happy Sunday!!!
I stitched on my three Halloween WIP's Friday nite and Saturday. Here is Lizzie Kate Boo Club

to see the other WIP's you can visit Spooky Stitchers SAL.
That does it for my update photo's on all my WIP's. So now I better go stitch, or I won't be posting anytime soon, lol

I was lucky enough to win this over at Cathey's blog

"I" is for Ice Skater by The Victoria Sampler with the accessory pack. Many Thanks to ya Cathey. It's so funny, I forgot to put in the comment to add me and thought heck I won't win anyway. Well, she threw in my name and I won. So from now on I won't be telling you to add me to your draw, lol.
This is what I picked up at the library

Shadows of Lancaster County by Mindy Starns Clark and Crochet Hats by Candi Jensen.
Hopefully I can succeed at making a beanie tonite, if I get a chance.
Happy Stitching!!!
And don't forget to floss!!

Wip's, finish and a walk

Happy Friday!!!
Everyone, most everyone wants to know why I don't care for QC very much. I don't like the 28 ct fabric and the color just is not right for me. I have really thought about starting it over on smaller count. I just have so much to stitch and can't stand the thought of all them stitches wasted. So I am going to bite my lip for a little longer on it. Hopefully closer to Christmas will do it for me.
Speaking of Christmas that reminds me of snow. There is a snow storm headed in our direction tomorrow and is suppose to dump 2"-4" of snow into tomorrow night. Southern Wisconsin is like 4"-8". Oh Well!! Chalk it up to "Stitch Time" for me.
Here is a few more WIP's

Blackbird Designs "Greeting's", loving it!!

"Princess Parade" by CCN, I can't wait to constuct the pink castle.

I finished stitching the woodpecker and started the deer last night. Prairie Schooler "Prairie Lodge" I beleive it is on Oatmeal Aida

I went for a early morning walk and for once remembered to bring my camera. There's not much to see when you live outta city limits and surrounded by fields.

This is looking up stream from my back yard. It is flooded, it's like triple the size.

Here's the Byron Nuclear Generating Station towers. We call it the cloud maker, lol. It's actually just steam. Your eyes o.k. it was hazey this morn. It's about oh! 20 miles from us. If it blows up, it probably wouldn't be enough to kill us, just turn us into mutant's. Kinda like what my jailer on Monopoly gameboard looks like, lol.
I think I captured a black spirit on my camera. I have not a clue what that black thing is. I went back up to the top of the road and dont see anything like that with the binoculars.

Here are my favorite neighbors, less then a block away, they came running up to my side of the fence looking for yummy apples or carrots

Have a super duper weekend. Thanks once again for your visits and all the support.
Update on the deceptive practice issue. My Dh called them last week and they agreed to pay 900.00 of the 1300.00. this week. . It's a little loss but we won't have to go to court and mess with the time or paperwork involved. We don't have a check as of today. DH won't do work for them anymore.
"Fool me once, shame on you,
Fool me twice, shame on me."
It's Frantic Friday around here, so I better scoot.
Happy Stitching!!

Some WIP's plus a small finish

First up are some of my WIP's

A Quaker Christmas, still not thrilled with it, but I did get a few stitches in.

A ornie from Prairie Schooler " Prairie Lodge"
I Love woodpecker's

"Emerald Mermaid" by Mirabilia

Here's the before photo of Monopoly Gameboard, when I first pulled it out in January after many, many years.

I have been stitching here and there and this is the results.

I have stitched and restitched the face on the jailer. He must have gotten too beat up in jail, because he always comes out looking deformed, So he's no face for right now, lol

Here's a little freebie that only took a few hours. I am not sure what's it's called. I noticed it sure has the same body style as the Goode Huswife "Primitive Bird" maybe a little different, I dont have the chart to compare. The freebie can be found Here

I didn't follow the exact motifs, I made some up. I didn't care for the poinsettia leaves.

Photo taken in my back yard, I can see a tree full of these little birdies.

I am planning on stitching BBD "Greeting's" tonite and I will see what other WIP's need my attention for update photo's.

That's it for now.

Please take care and Thanks so much for visiting :)

yay!!! The meet up

The meet up at Welcome-Stitchery in Crystal Lake on Saturday was sure worth the hour trip. We shopped then we went around the corner to Finn McCool Irish Sport Pub in historical downtown. The steak burgers were excellent, just like they said. Here is a pic of the girls I took before our farewells.
From the left is Denise, Tracy, Kim, Eva, Val and Trudy in the front. They all are from the 123stitch board. I will have to check that out. If I read the boards along time ago, it wouldn't have taken so long to meet up with these wonderful gals. Do you notice our little bags? We took them in with us for show and tell. The weather was beautiful as you can see. It was a awesome day all around.
Thank You ladies for a wonderful time and making me feel so comfortable. I can't wait to meet up again.
I suppose you want to see what I bought, right? wrong?
Now, I have been a really good girl lately. I have passed up all the New Years, Presidents day, and a few other sales. Besides a few things off Bay of Evil as Sharon calls it, lol.
So this is what I treated myself to...

BBD "Love Is In The Air" with three precut material for the stockings, a few threads, 30ct. R&R Broomstick Brown linen, 40ct. Lakeside Sand Dune linen for my VOHRH chart and do you spy my Little Gems scissors by Kelmscott?

Wait!!!! There's more...

Shepherd's Bush "Spooky Scissors Fob" kit, even the orange scissor was included. How many knew it was Halloween? lol

I will be posting some WIP's this week.

Happy Stitching!!!!

CCN start and Palomino pillow

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

First of all... I have had so many stitchers ask me about the La D Da freebie. It was a freebie I received from Needlecraft Corner last year with the BBD 2008 autoship. You might be able to contact them for it "Free-bee Alphabet w/ Hare"

Is it o.k. to share freebies????

I know this question has come up before, but I can't remember the rules. I know you can share a link.
**Edited to add: Thanks to Sadie she found a link to the freebie. Here it is http://www.needleartworks.com/stv/nwsltr/page1-6.pdf

This is my start on Princess Parade by Country Cottage Kids (CCN)I don't know why the photo shows tint of blue, it is 32ct cream, oh well! better colors next time around.

I finally made the Palomino into a pillow. I have the perfect barn wood frame, but it was a tad to small.

It's a beautiful sunny warm record breaking 75 degree day, the cornbeef and cabbage is in the crockpot and here I am inside blogging, lol

That's it for now

Happy Stitching!!

Yipeee!!!!

Good Morning!!
Well, it's 2:40 am and I can't sleep so I thought I would post a few little things I have did the last couple of days.

But before that I have fabulous news. Now many of you know that I have been longing to meet someone who stitches.

Get this! Eva sent me e-mail saying the gals were meeting up on the 21st at Welcome-Stitchery and ask me to join them. How cool is that? I am so excited.
O.K. what have I been up to? This...

We are not coffee drinkers, therefore we don't own a coffee brewer, so I went to a gas station and bought a cup of black coffee, dunked it and baked it, 18 ct Aida. The lighting under my day lamp is still not the best at this time of night.
I think I will stitch this

"Welcome Home" by Birds of a Feather, gotta love them chipmunks.

I tried to start Priness Parade, but it didn't get too far.

I also have made some beaded scissor FOB's for my Jamie and Sophia Gingher

That's it for now.

Happy Stitching!!!!

Happy dance and a rant

Hello! I will show you my finish first, that way you can skip the rant if you want

"Letters, Leprechauns and Luck" by Blue Ribbon Designs
stitched on 28 ct Water Lily stitched with GA and DMC
Good thing I had only one square to finish, the way I am feeling. I had started the Chequer Stitch, but ripped it out. I am not in the mood to finish the border. I am a stitcher that can not stitch when I am out of sorts and that is me right now, lol (not really funny)
o.k. here goes the rant
My DH did work on two trucks, the total bill was for 4,200. The workers from the small company came and picked up the trucks late on friday afternoon with two checks to pay the total bill. Saturday, my DH receives a check for 2,900. from the company ( 1300.less) He goes to the bank to see if the two checks from Friday was cancelled, no not yet, they still had them there and said it was fraud or a scam and made copies for my DH. My DH then makes a call to the company and talks with one of the owners and tell them the other owner will talk to him on Monday. Well, in the mean time we talked to a good friend that was a police officer and now is a detecive and tells him not to cash the 2900. check, which I told him not to do on Saturday. Monday came and my dh called the owner, that produced not a thing. Is this stealing??? My dh got hold of a police officer, that referred him to the sheriff. Sheriff said it was a civil suit, nothing they could do about it.WTF!!!! He talked to the Attorney General same thing. So now dh is getting hold of BBB today. So now we are out of 1300.00 and this guys gets away with it. There is small claim court, but dh is trying to make a decent living here and has no time for court.I wonder if I can go buy a car, pay in full and then turn around cancel the check and send him a smaller amount?? probably not, I would be blogging behind bars. I am so fuming here, it is hard to do anything. This is not the first time being business owners and losing money to dead beats, but this is a nasty trick. If someone doesn't pay a bill, my dh gets to keep the vehicle until paid in full, (usually he works out
payments though) So, something tells me this is not first time they have did this.
I won't have anymore stitching until this gets settled, I am one of those where I can't stitch if I am stressed. I just hope it doesn't last too long. I have tried to stitch today and just can't sit still and then I get thinking and I mess up my stitches. The kitty here can sense the tension, she wants to jump in my lap as soon as I sit. Bless her little heart.
Happy Stitching!!!

The city where I go to shop just opened a new library branch on that side of town, woohoo!!

I went there yesterday and picked up a few good books. Here are the stitchy related books.

Row 8

Hi!
Here is row 8 of LL&L
I have one more row and the border to finish. I believe I will be finished in 13 days.

I have been stitching on the Lizzie Kate Halloween

I am not sure what color I will make the inside border just yet.

I went to the library and picked up "Home Another Way" by Christa Parrish. I have never read one of hers books. I always forget to show and tell what I am reading.

If you like Halloween, I stumbled across this The Pink Witch: Cross Stitch, Knitting, Beadwork & Halloween she has so many different and neat references.

I am still playing catch up with reading and commenting, from over the weekend. All I can say is "Man! you stitchers and bakers are good, I mean really good"

I have a dilemma with my ATS. If you like, you can check it out here and give me some feedback on it "And They Sinned..."- The SAL! I would really appreciate it. I don't think that blog is too active anymore.

Thanks so much for coming here and being a little part of my world.

Happy Stitching!!
