Just in time....one more finish for 2012

Happy New Year's Eve...

I finished just in the nick of time for one more finish of 2012 and a very pretty one at that

"Tis the Season" by Blackbird Designs, found in the booklet, Joyeux Noel
Stitched on 40ct pear with Belle Soie silks. I didn't add the year, still debating that

In 2012... I had appropriately 27 finishes, maybe a couple more I didn't remember to add to my side bar
I turned a grandma for the 3rd time, I can't believe it!! I feel so young...
sometimes anyway, lol

There was 17 stitchers in the draw for Snowman Photobooth chart
Number 1 is the winner as you can see below.

That number 1 commenter was Shirlee over at www.farmhouseponderings.blogspot.com, please email me

I would like to thank everyone who visits my blog and those who take the time to comment. Thank You!!!!!

Wishing you and your loved ones peace, health, happiness and prosperity.

A couple finishes before the year is up

Happy Thursday afternoon

I have a couple close finishes I'm going to try to get done this year, so look for one more post

I recently finished this...

Photobooth Snowmen by Bent Creek, stitched on 32ct linen with WDW and GA threads
The third photo is my favorite, the snowman with the carrots on his head with the other snowman with his hand over his mouth giggling. If you would like to stitch this, comment letting me know you are interested in the pattern and I'll drop your name in the hat.

Another recent finish is this years retreat piece from Jan at Tree of Life Samplings

Needle's Guide stitched on 40ct peanut shell linen with GA threads

Here is a snap of Christmas Garden, I don't think it will get done until next year about this time, lol

It will go in the basket for awhile, until I get some WIP's done, then I will pick it back up.

I will leave you with a photo that I took the other night of our tree

Oh!!!!! I found a photo of the kids and the grandkids taken at Heather's on Thanksgiving
Sean, kellie, Dusty, standing
Brayden, Heather, Brianna, Chelsea and Dalton, sitting

My very own is Kellie (16) Dustin (27) and Heather (25)

I'm oh so proud of them all

If I want some more finishes this year, I better quit bragging and start stitching, lol, not many hours left

I'm sooooo addicted

to Belle Soie's silks

I couldn't help myself, I was going to stitch the cardinal slow, while stitching the branches, but.....that didn't happen

The fun part is over now and it didn't last very long.

I took a break from it today, stitched and finished this

The design is from The Blackbirds booklet, Honeysuckle Manor.

This was the before

Big difference, huh??!! at least the pincushion anyway

Good night! Good stitching!!

Ahhhh! Silks

Happy happy Tuesday

Yes you heard that right...silks

I ordered Belle Soie's for Tis the Season
I received them yesterday from Drema over at Needlecraft Corner, she had great prices on them. It's my first, now I'm not a silk virgin anymore. I have stitched with silk, but this is my first purchase. I think I'm going to love them, they are so soft.
I just can't afford the habit of doing it all time, so this is going to be a real treat for me

I will definitely start this evening, when all is quiet, besides the rain on the roof

I couldn't help myself to Finish this Halloween ornament. I had stitched it, then found it in my basket with the year, so thought I better put a little time into to finish finishing it

It's the Prairie Schooler little card I received when I ordered all the new ones at the same time.

That's it for now, I have to get chores done so I can settle in and stitch this evening, before work, yuck! I wish I got paid for stitching, lol
I'd reckon I'd be rich , lol

Happy stitching!!!

Happy Sunday

I found this little 14ct Aida finish at a second hand store awhile ago. I took it out of the frame, washed it and sewed it into a little pillow last night. I don't have a clue who the designer is, but I love the verse

I started In The Meadow last night too

I stumbled across a pair of the 4" Gingher Jennifer embroidery scissors

They are so pretty

Time to start some dinner

Garden of Eerie

Good morning!!

I finished Garden of Eerie yesterday

Plum Street Samplers
Stitched on 35ct putty with DMC, I changed the clouds 640 to 646 and the 3052 to WDW stepping stone, the lightening from 833 to WDW icicle. I'm not sure I will add the bottom "This work rot by me 2012" I won't be able to fit it in a already made frame for the size it is now, so I have to figure something out.

I was happy and lucky to find a frame to fit Midnight Watch by BBD

I did get the Primitive Needle Design in the frame I showed last post, but didn't get a snap

Enough of Halloween... On the Christmas stitching now

I picked out CCN, In the Meadow

And BBD, Merry Christmas Ella Vaughn

I'll honker down and start one tonight

I'm feeling like a little sewing machine quality time this afternoon

Have a great weekend!

Stash...new and antique

Hello!

While at The Inspired Retreat I started this

I didn't get too much done, Old Glory by Rosewood Manor stitched on the beautiful linen called Heroic 32ct Belfast

I bought these from Cathy's shop she bought with to the retreat
Yes! tis Halloween charts, Have A Treat by Cherrywood designs and Stitch An Inch Halloween, By The Bay Needleart with a very big piece of 28ct Lugana white linen to stitch the little itty designs and then a piece of 40ct pear linen to stitch BBD Tis the Season from the Joyeux Noel, oh by the way, it's Brenda's fault, lol I won't point out the blog, lol, you know who you are, lol

I bought these grungy antiques while shopping in Shipshewana
I had good intentions cleaning the wood piece up and stitching or at least make a pretty fabric cushion for it, lol didn't happen, maybe later today
I plan on stitching a wrap for the tin piece, I have no clue what, but I'm sure I have something in my stash, if not I'll buy, lol
The old pincushion is for the wrist, you can hardly see the band, it's off left of the pincushion

I bought this frame for The Primitive Needle design at House of Stitches
I know it's a shame I was there again and this is all I bought. I was saving my money for the retreat, because I knew there would be lots of enablers there, lol and there sure was, lol, no disappointments

Now for the next picture I'm not showing you what I have stitched, but rather what I haven't because it's almost done, Garden of Eerie

Yes, one more spooky finish soon

Thats it for today, now to go stitch and see what damage I can do

Thanks so much for visiting and leaving comments, it makes my day, week, month , you get the idea ;)

The Inspired Needle Retreat

In Shipshewana, Indiana

We had an fantastic time and wish it would be more then once a year
I look forward to it every year
Cathy did an awesome putting it on and maintaining it.
This little surprise was on our stitching places on Saturday night when we came back from dinner

Dovo scissors with a fall FOB and a wooden holder, fabulous!!

We had a small exchange for those who wanted to participate... I did

The next snap is all of them open, they were all so fascinating

I received Diane's (no blog)

It's a La D Da pillow, love it!
Barb from www.sunflowercross. Blogspot.Com, picked my small
It was really nice to see her again and many others

Well, I guess I don't have a close up, anyway, I painted the wood box black, sanded it and put owl scrap book paper lined it. It's a Lizzie Kate design

Here is the table I was at with Kellie, Barb standing behind her, Pat, Linda, Brenda, Jayne and Diane in the pink way back there

On the other side is Laura, Vonna, Karin, Katrina, Patti and Anna, most from the Chicago area.

And here we all are in a group.
We didn't have the whole group picture this year, it was too late and some had to leave

That's it for now... Braydon is waking up, yep, I'm babysitting the little buck-a-roo

One mo time Halloween postie

Good evening!!

Are you tired of seeing Halloween on my blog??

This is probably maybe (no promises) the last one, besides maybe fallish for Thanksgiving

A cheap frame and some folkart extreme glitter paint

Turned out great, looks better in real life, really

The design is from Barbara Ana, another one on The Wall

Remember when I put a map behind my light switch? now it has a piece of scrap book paper, goes great on The Wall

Here is the punch design that is behind my stitched piece,
Notice: the skeleton key hanger, very clever huh?!

Works great!!!

Teresa over at atwillowtreepond.blogspot.com entered my contest and didn't win, her birthday is on the 31st and I couldn't resist sending her something.
So I made up this box with a few other goodies, you can see them on her blog.

The design is Holiday Seasons by Birds of a Feather
This is the lined inside

Look 7 more days until Halloween

Got Candy??
