Ohhh!!! Should I?

I forgot to add this to my post yesterday

I found this UFO the other day

I started this along time ago. Love the crown above the owl.

"Quaint Owl Sampler"

Designer: Patricia Andrle

Magazine: Dec. 1994 Cross Stitch & Country Crafts

If I do finish it, I will most likely coffee dye it.

It's 28ct but I have no idea what the fabric is. It calls for 28ct shell, but that's not what it is.

I rarely find two designs I like in older magazines. But look at this one...

"Cardinal Sampler" Same designer Patricia Andrle

That's all I have to share today

Happy Stitching

Don't foget to floss everyday

OMG, I can't believe this. I stitched this 11 years ago for my brother's wedding. It went with me to the US and then back home again. After it was framed I discovered there were a few stitches missing, so I carefully slid a needle with thread under the fabric and fixed it. My DB still has it in his study. It's a great design.

I love the Quaint Owl Sampler. The owls are my favorite part. It's good that we fall in love with our WIPs more than once.

We definitely have the same taste in samplers! Those are both on my "to do" list!
Great start!

The owl sampler looks really cool. I would never have let that get to UFO-ville. Can't wait to see it when it's done.

I love browsing through old magazines now and then, Ranae. Every once in a while, I'll find a gem that I want to stitch. I think our tastes change as we age, too. I know some of the things that I stitched when I began back in the '80s I would never stitch now!

Love your little owl sampler :)

That is a very cute sampler! I sold all of my CSCC magazines a few years ago, darn it! I think you SHOULD finish this darling sampler! Love the other chart as well!
Thanks for sharing.

Finish this one silly! It's gorgeous! I know I have a few of those magazines but I don't think I have this one :o(

The owl is darling and I would love to see him all finished up! Isn't it fun to find things to stitch, especially after you have started to stitch them? Makes it a bit easier on the ol' pocketbook! The designs are very pretty even if the are older. That just means they are classic!

Love the colors in your UFO :)

Stitched the owl a while back. Gave it to male friend. He and his wife love it. I also like the cardinal sampler. Keep Smiling, Keep Stitching and Always remember to Smile.

Wow! I like both of them. The funny thing is that I was just going through and pruning all of my CS&CC magazines the other day. I don't think that I made it to 1994 yet. I will have to go and check :)

Oh, I have not seen the owl design - it is lovely and you should definitely finish it (soon). I love all of Patricia's designs - and, I thought I had collected them all. I am definitely going to be on the lookout for this little gem.

So glad you shared it with all of us!

I love Patricia Andrle's designs! One of my first completed stitching pieces is her Illuminated House Blessing, I think from that same magazine as the owl. Your WIP is beautiful!

Melanie said...

I love the owl below the crown - LOL! Very nice design! Are you going to start the cardinals, or are you just admiring?

wow...awesome samplers....

Hi Ranae (I hope I spelled that correctly),
Thank you for giving me the information on that lovely sampler. I have found it, and am deciding whether or not to order it. My favorite designer is Michael Powell. His designs ore quaint and quirky. Are you familiar with him?

Daffycat said...

Oooo, you are SO BAD! At enabling, that is! I had to go right to ebay and find this issue. I have a weakness for owls.

They are both lovely.

Love the sampler - it's fantastic.

Oh boy, I have it, I have it. It's so rare that someone shows a great design from a magazine and I have just that issue. Usually I don't. But I have this one. Will pull it out and put the owl sampler on my to-stitch pile. Thanks for enabling, lol.
