Quaint Owl Sampler

Good Day!!!

Finally after years and years, The Quaint Owl Sampler is officially finished

found in the Cross Stitch & Country Crafts Nov/Dec 1994

32ct unknown fabric, it's been way too long, lol

I think it will make a cute little pillow

Now here is the question...

Should I coffee dye it???

one simple word.. yay! or nay!

The most votes will win, so vote today

It's such a good feeling to finish a UFO

I think this design would look great on black. Noooo! I won't be stitching it again. I am just saying

Here are a few things I have received from giving away my charts, some of you thought you had to repay, which was not necessary.

"Pear Orchard Farm" by CHS,

"Tillie Figg 1807" by Plum Street Samplers and

"Molly" by CHS with some fabby for her

"Little Lambs" & "Upon the Birds" by Sheepish Designs

My blogoversary button is not working. I checked the date and it is right, the button says otherwise

Tomorrow, the 24th will mark my 3rd year blogoversary. My blogging journey wouldn't be the same without you reading and to those over the past 3 years who have commented, inspired, e-mailed and challenged me. Thank you all for being apart of my Blog world.

So to show my appreciation I will give away a little something stitchy finish along with some surprises within the next year (probably sooner) Let me know you are interested in this post.

Thank You to all my followers too.

So again..

A big big Thank You!!

The sampler is gorgeous. I say leave well enough alone. You never know if you'll really like the dyed effect and you'll have to live with it once you dye it.

Congrats on the blogging milestone!

Wonderful finish! I have to vote for yay since I love anything coffee or tea stained! But it is still beautiful the way it is. Wonderful goodies! I am jealous of Cast Your Bread. I need to get that one.

Congratulations on a lovely finish! Won't dying it now affect the colour of the threads? I'd leave it as it is.

Lovely owls! I stitched this one some time ago as well. I say "aye" to the coffee dying but I like things that look like they've been through a war so you can take that with a grain of salt if you like. Happy Bloga-thingy and please enter me in your giveaway!

Hi! I visited your blog for the first time and I LOVE it! You have so much going on and so much inspiration! Where in IL do you live? Inspired Needle is my LNS; I LOVE that place! I live out in the south suburbs so that and the Orland store Country Cupboard are the one closest to me but I prefer Inspired Needle. I re-discovered cross stitch after many years and am having a great time with it and can not seem to get enough! If you get a chance, please feel free to drop by my site and say "hi"

A wonderful finish! I vote yes on the coffee dye (or tea dye.) My sister tea dyed a piece after stitching and it turned out soooo pretty!

Happy 3rd blogoversary, Ranae! Enter me, please!

Melody said...

Happy blogoversary! I think your piece looks great without the coffee dyeing process.

Thanks for the drawing.

Kat said...

I vote Nay on the coffee dying! But I'm a big scaredy Kat so please take that into account. I'd love to be included in your giveaway, and congrats on your 3rd anniversary! Cheers!

Wouldn't coffee dying change the color in the stitching too? In that case, I vote nay --- but if the floss will stay vibrant -- yay --- how's that for wishy-washy.

Happy blogversary!!!

I say it depends on where you're using it - if the decor is spring, nay. If it's warmer, yea - I love it either way. Hum, don't I have that mag - think so!

Happy Blogiversary!

I LOVE your Quaint Owl finish! Such soft, pretty colors. I say NO to the coffee dye, it looks perfect as is. The coffee dye may overwhelm the soft colors of the piece.
Happy Blogoversary! I just found your blog through another stitcher's favorites. I can see why you are a favorite! I now have another wonderful stitchy blog to read over morning coffee. Please include me in your drawing.

Congrats on your finish!

I like the look of coffee / tea dying, but it truly scares me to think about doing that to something that is already stitched. I think I'm too late to vote, but my vote would be no.

Ranae,

Such cute owls. Congrats on another fine finish.

"Yeah" to the lovely Owl finish! "Nay" to the coffee dye. The colors look wonderful with the background fabric - just the way it is.

I'm also an Illinois stitcher but have just discovered stitching blogs and am now addicted to both! (just ask my husband... ) Maybe I'll get brave enough for a blog of my own. Anyway, your work is beautiful, nay to the dyeing, and please, please consider me for your blogoversary drawing. I'd be thrilled to win whatever treats you choose to share.

Hi again Ranae~ Thanks for stopping by my site and commenting- it is so very much appreciated! Where outside of Rockford? One of my very best friends lives in Roscoe so I am up that way quite a bit. Yes I would say Inspired Needle is quite a drive for you (my newest post is actually about Inspired Needle). Are there places up your way? Isn't there a great store in Crystal Lake- or so I have heard. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and stop by again soon!
