Try e-mailing them to yourself. If your e-mail account is linked to your iPad you should be able to open them in Mail and save them to your iPad from there. There are some good tutorials on You Tube to get you up and running on iPad.

PS If there is a Mac Authority store in your area, they offer free classes.
Is your computer a Mac? Do you have iCloud? Pics go automatically to all your devices if you have it turned on. :D
