Happy New Year!!!

Here's wishing everyone A Happy New Year filled with stash and stitchy finishes.

I didnt set any goals for this year since I started blogging in Feb. I am quite happy with all the finishes I have completed this year though.

Thanks to you all for your support and inspiration, I would have never completed so many, if I have not discovered blogland with all the wonder
stitchy buddies I have found in each and every single one of you. I will leave you with my last 2007 finish

Pine Mountain Design "Tie On Winter" slipped on a pillow and tied.

I have not really set any goals for 2008 except in my head (too many), lol. I am starting a few bigger projects and am focused right now on them. And I will be making more biscornu's too.

Happy Stitched-Filled 2008

Hehe my 1st biscornu

Good Evening!!
I finally attempted a biscornu today. Was that a chore stitching around the corners. I thought I must be doing it wrong, but kept doing what it said to do and I think it looks kinda like one, lol. I dont have one to compare with, I am probably the only one in stitchy blogland that dont own one, lol. I followed the directions and the pattern for the mini off The Floss Box .
Thanks to everyone who responded with the comments and emails where to find the patterns.
Without further ado here it is. It's o.k. to have a chuckle, I laughed at it too.
Believe me, this is the good side, lol.
For you pros, do think a higher softer count fabby and a bigger design would be easier? I stitched it on 25ct potato lugana which is kinda of stiff.
I also stitched the December ornie on that too.
I think the teeny tiny mini biscornu pattern and the stiffer fabby made it hard to maneuver around the corners. I didnt put alot of stuffing in it.
I will try again "practice makes perfect".
I will follow any advice that one gives to make a better one, so dont be afraid to criticize, it's o.k.
I will leave you with another pic of the whole family taken Christmas Eve at the in-laws.

It's a winter wonderland today

Hi! I woke up to it snowing this morning. It's going to snow all day, Hooray!!! 6 inches. I love these days when I dont have to go out and can stay in. This pic is taken from my downstairs patio.

I have been stitching like crazy the last couple of days. The week before Christmas I thought I wouldn't have finished anything. But to my suprise, I will have a few more before the 1st. Here is a bib I finished for Brianna this morning.
These last two pics were taken Christmas Eve
Sweet Brianna, can you believe she is 5 months old already.
Gramps (lol) and I with Brianna. The pics look blurry, I believe you can click them for better clarity.
Well, off to visit a few blogs and then off to start my biscornu. Stayed tuned for a update on that tomorrow, fingers xx.
Thanks everyone for stopping by, it means the world to me :)
Happy Stitching!!!

Christmas Ornies

Hello! I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday. It was really fun having everyone over, but glad its over, lol. I was vacuuming 10 minutes after everyone left on Christmas Day. I pretty much had everything picked up and back to normal that night. That left me with lots of time yesterday to stitch. I stitched up December from Seasonal Mementos by Mary Garry.

I just need to add the backing and a hanger. I know its a little late, but its done for next year.

Here is a pic of our tree, sideways, lol It's real, so it's not by any means perfect. I am running short on time this morning, so I have no time to go back and fix it. My FIL is coming down from Wisconsin and should be here any minute. So I am trying to post really fast, so after he leaves I can stitch some more, lol.

I dug these out and thought I would share with you. I stitched these a few years ago on perforated paper.

I will have more stitchy news in a few days. I am working hard on trying to get a few things wrapped up, get rid of some of the things on my plate, so there's more time to devote to ATS. I started Tie On Winter by Pine Mountain last nite, trying to finish up a bib, oh! then there's my try at a biscornu (thats planned for saturday).

I hope everyone has a beautiful fun-filled weekend.

Happy Stitchin' !!!!!!!

Updates

Hello! I hope this finds everyone happy and healthy.
I haven't had the chance to get in as many stitches before the end of the year, like I would have. but... hey there's always next year, lol.
I don't see anymore finishes for the year :(
I did pick up SB's "Baby Bug Ball" and had my own stitch-a-thon on Saturday and some on Sunday. Due to the 6" snowfall that was to be only a dusty, it was coming down so heavy, I was in heaven. The last few snowfalls have happen right after dusk, so you cant watch it. Anywho! here is my amazing progress

And I dont anticipate getting Birds of a Feather "A Joyous Christmas" done again for a second year.
I promise to set a goal to get it finished by Thanksgiving 2008.
I forgot to take a pic of And The Forest Grew progress and my tree. I guess I wasnt ready to post and wasnt really thinking of it. But wanted to update before the holiday, as this will be my last post until after Xmas.
The week after Xmas I plan to study And They Sinned and check my fabby and get it ready for the scroll, so when New Years Eve comes I will be ready.
I would also love to try a biscornu.
Are there any good freebie pattern's for a biscornu?? If you could direct me to, I would appreciate it.
We have so much to be Thankful this year, dispite a few bumps here and there, overall it was a great year for us.
I want to wish everyone a very happy, healthy and properous 2008.
Thank you so much for visiting, the comments and e-mails, have been more then I could have ever asked for. I have connected with so many wonderful stitchers. I hope to get in at least one exchange in 2008.
Please come back :)
Happy Stitching!!
Merry Christmas!!! my dear friends
Until next time....

Where did I get those boxes?

Hello! I hope everyone is staying dry where ever you are. It raining with freezing here. Yeah! No school, multiple closings, cancellations and threatening power outages. I think I will be staying in.
Just to let you know and I should have stated where I got those suitcase-like boxes. Gordmans // Something Unexpected, I tried to find them on the website, but its very basic. They do have a store locator. The small box was 5.99 and the large 7.99, you can guess what the medium was, lol. Not too bad a price. I still have two I am not using.
Sew!!! I am thinking I may give one away for my bloggiversary, so keep a look out for that. Not even sure of myself when that is. Sound like a good idea?
I am going to try for a little while to play catch up on some more blogs and get in some stitching. Kellie wants to make cookies, decorate the tree and make some jewerly, those pretty much require a mess, lol. I am sure she will win me over though, lol.
Happy Stitching!!

baking, shopping, going crazy

Whew!! What a week of baking, shopping, decorating, sending cards. We went out and cut our tree last nite, so we can decorate that tonight. I didnt get too much outside this year, just because of the cold and too much rain. I live where not too many, only visitors, can see it anyway, back here in the woods. I decorate for Halloween too with only me to enjoy it.
I am so far behind in my blogs, I plan on spending most of the afternoon catching up everything to do with online. I dont have much to share as far as stitching. I finished up page 1 on AAFG and have added a angel to my Joyous Christmas.

I do have pic of some organization with my stitchy though. Look at these cute little suitcase-like boxes. In the big box I have all my starts kitted up and ready to go, (some, not all, lol). The second box is all my WIP's and the third is my threads that are doubles or I am using for current WIP's. If I had a stitchy group they would be perfect for travel, just throw in the WIP.

I bought these for xmas gifts to add towels and soaps, etc. but they were just too cute to give away. I went back for some more, but they were pretty much picked over, except for some damaged ones.
kellie played her clarinet in church yesterday and was very impressive, for only playing since school started this year.

I will leave you with a pic of sweet Brianna
I do have to get some stitches in and done before the New Year's big start.
I hope good fortune to you all this week. Thanks so much for visiting with me.
Happy Stitching!!!

Let It Snow!!!!!! Midnight Stroll

Hi! The weather is yucko!! Rain, sleet and just a little snow. The roads are bad here, so no going out today/tonite.

Lookie at this cute design I started last nite

Midnight Stroll by The Yankee Stitcher.
I am using 40 ct. Creme Brule R&R and recommended GA samplers.

I decided on the ornie I will stitch with the thread from the mystery santa. It will be the "Santa In the Moon" in the Just Cross Stitch Ornaments pg. 16

I finally ordered A Quaker Christmas by Bygone Stitches yesterday. I will study the chart before getting fabby. I am in no hurry to start it, but just had to get it ,lol.
I can't wait to download my Gift Of Stitching, I see I have in my mail. I made a label with my lightscribe. Hopefully I will find something little to which strikes my fancy in this issue.
I have a read a few blogs already before posting , haha I bet there is more now then I started with, lol. I'm not even peeking.
Off to bake some cookies.
Then I am off in my corner for my stitching fix.
Happy Stitching!!

Surprise!! Mystery!!

Hello! again and so soon, lol.
I wanted to share something I recieved in my mail box this afternoon.

The mystery is who sent it? and it sure was a pleasant surprise!!!!

I had to go back to Teejay's The Passion of My Needle and reread her blog from yesterday and it was the same sender that her something too. I recieved Olde Willow Stitchery thread in "Santa Red" just beautiful. Like Teejay I will use the card for a ornie with a piece of ribbon.
Whoever sent it, Thank You!!! It was such fun to find it in my box :)

Thank You!! & WIP's

Hi! Let me start off by Thanking You for all the wonderful comments on my CDC. I don't have any stitchy friends or groups to interactive personally, so this means so much to me. Thank you my cyber stitching buddies.
I have progress on a few of my WIP's that I havent shown lately.
Country Poppies, all I have left to is one flower and the alphabet

The Bears and the Bees, left to do is the bear and more bees

A Joyous Christmas
I don't get too much done with grandbaby Brianna being 4 months now. She sure stays awake more. She is 11lbs 4oz. and is still on the heart monitor, with no incidents.
I ususally have my shopping almost done by now, but havent even put a dent in the list. My family was over for Thanksgiving, so now that's over, so there will be more time.
I keep forgetting to answer a question, I got from quite a few post down, I deleted a comment, it wasnt bad, it was someone trying to advertise. That's all it was. Sorry it took so long to comment about that.
Well, off to catch up on reading some blogs. You guys are so funny, just when I think I have a few down on my reader, I look up the number of post and it has gone up.
You are posting faster then I can read and comment, lol
Happy Stitching!!!

Cirque des Cercles Happy Dance

Hi! Here is my finished Cirque Des Cercles by Ink Circles. I finished this off just before a late dinner tonite, lol.

I stitched 2/2 on 32ct Lakeside's Sugared Ginger. The floss is DMC 4130 Chilean Sunset.

I started it May 29th 2007. That's about 5 months and I thought it would take me at least a year to finish it. I am going to miss this so much. I might just start it with a different color someday, lol.

I hope this photo's turn out o.k. I will post again after I get it framed, probably after the holidays.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Bless You and Yours throughout the Holidays.

New stash, new start

Hello! I started a new stitch this morning, it is The Bear and the Bees by Prairie Schooler. I thought I would try a pinkeep, but it looks to large. I am stitching on 14 ct oatmeal? I love this design.

And this is a little of the new stuff I bought Saturday.

Orange fabby for a Halloween design, Pine Mountain Tie On Winter with the quilted pillow, some threads and some older charts. I had to leave something for the next visit, lol.

The weather here is nasty out. I am ready for a nappie. I do have a couple other new things I want tpo start and get done by the New Year so I can concentrate a little more on ATS.

Well, off to read a few blogs before I doze off.

Thanks so much for visiting and the comments.

Happy Stitching!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

freebie done

Hi! I hope your weekend has started off with a bang!
I finished off "I Love You To The Moon" freebie and here it is

I stitched on 16ct white aida with DMC
Here is the link CyberStitchers Patterns it is under designer Barbara Ana. Her designs are so darn cute, check them out.

I finally have in my hands "And They Sinned" here's a pic to prove it, lol

I have been looking high and low for this chart, seems like forever. I have had the fabby for months. This will be my New Years start. It is huge, wish me luck.

I was so happy to share and mailed off the magazine with Painted Ponies to Kathy A and Windy Hill to Barbara who e-mailed me first for the chart, so ladies watch for the postie.

I finally finished raking the front yard and burned, before it started sprinkling this morning. The trees are now bare, yippee!!

Now I am off to the needleshop that moved to Freeport. I just talked to Jill on the phone and is the first day of opening there. I am on my way to check out her store, so I will catch up on blog reading later.

Happy Stitching!!

Wednesday, November 14, 2007

Hello! eveyone, I hope this finds everyone well and excited about the holidays coming up. I have been so busy with working part-time, a couple night courses, babysitting Brianna, raking the leaves, cleaning the house to decorate and entertain, hubby's taxes and the garage needs to be cleaned before snow starts coming down, arrgghh. I need more hours, lol. I only have the last two inside circles to be filled in on CDC, then thats done. I am getting sad and have slowed down, I have enjoyed stitching this so much. I might just stitch it again in another color. It is so hard for me to put down.
oh well! here's my progress on AAFG, thats also another hard to put down, the motifs stitch up so fast.

I took a trail off the beaten path the other nite and started this freebie. I should be done with it tomorrow nite, if I can sit with it for awhile tonite.

I seen it on this new to me blog Pull Up A Needle And Stitch and just loved the mat she used to frame it with. I had seen this design stitched up and always looked for it and here it was... a freebie.

Well, better get going, my floors should be dry now. I soaked em' good, lol.

Happy Stitching!!

Until next time...

Painted Ponies

Hi!

Happy weekend!!

Here's my finished Painted Ponies can you believe I finished it off with a hoop, lol. Haven't done that in ages.

I might just add some rope around the edges. I am giving this to my DD's friend that loves horses. She has seen it and I think she knows it's for her.
Another busy weekend ahead.
After Brianna leaves today, it's out to rake alittle and then in to stitch some on CDC before bed.
Friday fish fry sure sounds good.
Have a super duper weekend all.
until next time....

Edited: Thanks so much for the ones who took the time to comment on my Windy Hill.
I think I will put it away for awhile, I dont know, maybe, cut it away and make ornies with the unused portion.

If anyone would love to have the chart, email me, first come first serve. no charge.

need advice

Aaargh!!! I need your gals advice on what to do with this piece. I don't like it nor do I want to finish it. Should I just throw it out, take out all the stitching and reuse the linen or what? I just dont want to throw it in a UFO pile. What do you ususally do if you dont like a piece or just cant get into. I cant believe I did so much before I realized I wanted to trash it. This is the very first time I have ever felt about a piece. If you remember a few post down, I started it on barn owl linen, but wanted to start over on a little darker (not much) linen, which I did. I have been getting real comfortable about changing colors. In this piece it called for gunnut stars, which I just exchanged for DMC. Looking forward to what you think!!!
P.S. Some stitchers ask about the fabby I was using for A Joyous Christmas. I am stitching it on 36 ct meadowlark.
P.S.S. I am almost done with the BS on Painted Ponies woohoo!!
Happy Stitching!!

BOAF WIP

Hello!
It's a lazy Sunday. I am staying in and stitching all day.

I thought I would take a break and share this Birds of a Feather WIP that I dug up from the bowels of my Christmas tote. It's called "A Joyous Christmas". I fixed my mistake this morning and ready to get a fresh start on it.
We went out and bought Guitar Hero III, for the kids. While it is fun, just say I am not musical inclined, lol, or coordinated, whatever it shall be.
I will leave you with a pic of my furball.
Must be nice to sleep all day.
Happy Stitching!
Please come again

Updates

Hi! Well, I took everyone advice and stitched instead of raking.

I worked on CDC, here's my progress

I am stitching it on 32 ct Sugared Ginger from Lakeside Linen using DMC 4130 Chilean Sunset.

I am making progress on my Painted Ponies

I have a mane and then lots of backstitching.

Thanks so much to Chiloe's corner for finding the designer of that mystery chart. Here's the link for it if you were interested in it...
Peak in at Chiloe's wonderful blog.
I am sorry to say no stitching today, I do have to go rake today at least a little.
Oh by the way I seen this on someones blog and feel the need to pass it on. Take a peak at this site about the children's movie The Golden Compass, you might rethink about taking your children to see.
Well! off the rake, I wish I could fake. lol.
Happy Stitching!!

Ta-Daa

Good Afternoon folks, let me introduce you to The Halloween Queen.

How do you like the leaf frame? lol.

And here's my little front door buddy.

I have only stitched a little on Painted Ponies. I have only the one mane left on the last pony and then all the backstitching. So it wont be too long for that finish too.

First priority is the leave raking.

I have blisters, and they are still falling. They are everywhere. One good thing... there are hardly any acorns this year. Does that mean a mild winter?

Lets remember those in the firestorm in California and pray for them at this devastating time. And those who also weathered the bad storms in our Southern region.

Rake??? or Stitch????

I think Stitch, lol.

Until next time....

Oh! P.S. thanks for those who took the time to look at that pattern in the last post. I am thinking with Carolyn that it might be french. There is a similar pattern by De juex?? But, oh well, I really dont need it anyway.

Wednesday, October 24, 2007

Help!!

Hi! If anyone has the time. I am wondering the designer of this pattern. I found it on ebay and cant find no other info on it.
Ebay Item number: 320173114186
It's so much appreciated. Thank You!!
I Have halloween Queen finished.
I will post again in a day or two.
Off to catch up on some blog reading.
Happy Stitching! and Thank You for visiting.

Friday, October 19, 2007

Hello! and Happy Weekend to everyone.
I am so overwhelmed with the You Make Me Smile Award given by
Stitchyangel's Treasures you have truly made my weekend, Thanks so much.
I am sure it probably had to do with my recently finished Witchy Washy, hanging out my colorful laundry, lol.
The rules are to send to 10 people, but rules are made to be broke. So, I am breaking. Everyone's post and comments and e-mails make me smile. Consider everyone that reads my story to be given that Smile Award.
It is just too hard to pick ten.
I am sure everyone has been picked a few times by now anyway.
On the stitchy front...
I finished Salem Sister's by Plum Street Samplers on Wednesday and framed it yesterday.
This was a SAL with Sharon & Lizzy.

I have stitched a little on Poppies
I had started Windy Hill by Brightneedle some time ago. I think I am going to start it again on a darker fabby. It looks like the greens are too light on this color. I just am not motivated by it.
I am almost done with Halloween Queen, just the border.
When thats done, I am going to focus on CDC, my deadline of Thanksgiving is coming fast.
I didnt start And A Forset Grew just because my needle hand has been achy.
But I sure have been studying it, lol.
Possibly achy from all these years of stitching?
Well, I promised myself this was going to be short and sweet.
Happy Stitching!!! until next time...
